Frequently Asked Questions
Our routing number for direct deposit is 275980816.
Are my deposits in your credit union federally insured?
Yes, the National Credit Union Administration insures LCU deposits. All savings accounts and IRAs are insured to at least $250,000.
Why didn't I get a 1099-INT and/or 1098 from you?
LCU is not required to mail a 1099-INT for yearly dividends earned unless the total received on all suffixes under the base account number is $10 or more. LCU is not required to mail a 1098 for mortgage interest paid unless the member paid $600 or more on that loan suffix (not aggregate).
If we do not mail a 1099 or 1098, we are not notifying the IRS of the amounts that would be pertinent to those forms. You may still use the information from your last statement when filing taxes; for example, claiming the mortgage interest paid under $600.
I can change automatic transfers or ACH direct deposit distributions in online banking. What is the difference and why would I want to choose one over the other?
An automatic funds transfer (AFT) is a transfer that will occur on a regular basis, such as weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. The transfer always takes place, regardless of whether a direct deposit or a payroll deduction is received.
If you do not have enough money to complete a transfer to a savings account, it will not happen until the next designated time. If it’s a transfer to a loan and your account does not have enough to cover the transfer, an attempt will be made each day until the transfer is completed for you.
An ACH direct deposit distribution is triggered only when your deposit is received at the credit union. When your deposit is posted, the distributions occur automatically. If your deposit is not sent by your company, the distributions do not occur.
I had ACH direct deposit distributions set up and suddenly they are not happening. What happened?
Changes may have been made online through online banking. Or perhaps your company changed either their company identification number or your depositor identification number.
Your distribution transfers are programmed under the old depositor identification numbers and need to be switched to the current identification numbers. Please call the credit union to have your distributions transferred to the new identification numbers. You should be able to see both the old and the new ACH direct deposit information on It's Me 247.
I’m getting a bonus check direct deposited and don’t want my distributions to take place. Can I do that?
Yes. It is best if you call us before the deposit is made and we can remove the distributions temporarily. You can also make adjustments to your direct deposit distribution in It’s Me 247 online banking by selecting the ACH transactions link on the main screen. If the deposit has already taken place, we can make adjustments to back off any distributions that were made.
Does LCU really do mortgages?
Of course we do mortgages! We do traditional mortgages, construction loans, WHEDA, etc. Find out more here.
Can I use my LCU Debit Card outside of the United States?
Your LCU Debit Card can be used anywhere VISA is accepted, including internationally. The transaction will be completed in that country's currency; however, it will be converted to US Dollars when the funds are withdrawn from your account. In addition, your account may be assessed a 1% ISA converting fee per transaction.
Due to a lot of fraudulent debit card transactions originating in foreign countries, LCU regularly monitors international transactions on our debit cards. If we do not have a recent history of legitimate international use, we may cancel the card to prevent fraudulent charges from occurring.
If you are planning travel out of the country, and wish to use your debit card internationally, please contact us at 920-729-5100 and ask to speak with one of our Debit Card Specialists prior to your departure. Inform the specialist as to which countries you may be using your card in and the dates you will be traveling.
What's the easiest way for me to open an extra account at LCU?
If you're already a member, the easiest way to open an extra savings, money market, checking or holiday club account is to choose "Savings/Checking Accounts" from the main menu in It's Me 247 online banking. You'll see a list of the types of accounts that can be opened online along with balance and rate information. There is also a link to open the new account. Since you're already a member, you won't need to enter information that we already have on file.
If you don't have access to It's Me 247, or if you're not currently a member of LCU, you can open a membership or an extra account at any of our convenient locations.
